Data Category Information: Description: lime burning; Deposition: homogeneous

 

Discussion: Dark layer of burning - below light deposit and similar to other deposits like this we'vehad. Continuous burnt bone. deposits didn't extend far across pit - very limited extent - but I looked for a cut in case these deposits had been truncated by a re-cut, but underlying deposit (i.e. 13167) extended across pit and under burning sequence (including 13165). 

 

Recognition: Colour - asociated with (13161) 

Definition: Clear 

Execution: Mattock / trowel 

Condition: Dry 

Consistency: Loose / friable 

Colour: Dark brown / black 

Texture: Sandy silt 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Moderate bone frags; moderate charcoal; occasional obsidian; occasional pot 

Post-depositional Features:  

Basal Boundary: Abrupt; prominent; smooth; inclined east to west
