Discussion: This unit is slightly problematic in that it may be a cut into the floor or a depression set into it- it seemed at one point as if it had a plastered face/sides, but along one edge, different floor layers could be seen on the sides suggestive of a cut-of course it could be a cut contemporary with the latest floor, plastered over - either way, it seems best to call it a cut, whether faced/surfaced or not. On the other hand, if not contemporary with the floor, could be a later cut like (1326) indeed (1269) overlies thin almost exactly rather than (1325-1326). At this point, it is inconclusive.
