Unit description: Burial 30 in House 1. No material from dry sieve, but one X-finded tooth. Many flotation samples. Sample 2 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Substantial amount of human bone removed without recording. What remains is a moderate-size sample with mostly small crumbles of sheep-size bone, but some larger pieces (up to 5 cm) and a little large mammal. A little bird, a little fish, a little microfauna, one fragment of eggshell. Some low temperature burning, some digestion. Rather weathered, no coherence. Looks very secondary, like fill at least partially derived from redeposited midden. Sample 5 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Substantial amount of human bone removed without recording. Small sample of small sheep-soze scrap, plus one deciduous but probably not shed sheep/goat tooth. Some burning, low and high temperatures. Weathering variable, mostly rather rolled. No coherence, looks quite secondary. Sample 6 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Moderate amount of human bone removed without recording. Smallish sample of sheep-size scrap, mostly quite small pieces. A little fish and microfauna. Some low temperature burning. Most is rather rolled. Looks like dirty floor. Sample 8 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Substantial amount of human bone removed without recording. Smallish amount of mostly sheep-size scrappy bits. Quite fragmented, but few tiny bits; mostly .5-2 cm. Some burning, variable weathering. Looks like fill. Sample 9 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Moderate amount of human bone removed without recording. Mostly small crumbles, mostly sheep-size, but a few larger bits and a little large mammal. A little burning, a little digestion. Most looks rather weathered and trampled. Looks like dirty floor and/or fill. Last number = 116Figurine Records: No GroundStone Records: No Heavy Residue Records: No Microfaunal Records: No
