Discussion: Linear cut adjacent to northern external retaining wall of space 247 in building 55. Function of cut is not clear, and is not a construction cut as wall continues below base of cut. Possibly it was dug to relieve pressure on wall F. 1599, and was subsequently infilled with midden lenses.
