Discussion: This layer is being removed as an arbitrary layer because currently there are only negative impressions showing in an otherwise fairly homogenous horizon. No specific features were visible before execution, although some quickly became apparent as the unit was dug (eg 14219). This layer seemed to consist of mixed, midden like material that collected on top of the final layer of settlement on the mound, or a structure such as a grave (north-south-west) showing at th east side of the unit.

On further excavation following the mudbrick feature 4208, it became apparent that severe animal disturbance was present. Dispersed amongst this was mudbrick chunks, faunal bone and Byzantine and Chalocolithic pottery.
