Unit 1453
Category: cut dug in 1996
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: pit cut
Data Category Information: Description: scoop
Dimensions: 0.48 x 0.4m by 0.08m deep
Discussion: The Fill was excavated some time ago but then left due to the difficulty of following the edge of the deposit; haven taken off the overlying floors if appeared more clearly in section and continued under the bin wall to the west. It is a fairly irregular feature and the cut plan was drawn for incomplete surviving limits-because it is clearly cut from quite high up as originally found and filled with an ashy deposit; probably some contamination/confusion with underlying ashy layers (below 1451) caused the difficulties in defining it's edges.
