Unit 14600
Category: Layer dug in 2006
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: backfill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: pit; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: Layer comprises of rubble-like loamy clay with areas of plaster. The mix suggests the layer formed as a result of backfill associated with the retrieval of the retrieved post. Material from the platforms, around the walls, thr original posthole mix, and also dug through subterrainian layers cut through, would make up this layer. The layer differs from the roomfill 13115 in this regard, but some roomfill may have slumped into the top of the pit as the original fill subsided. X1 and X2 were recovered from the base of the pit. Cf. cut sheet 14601. Original Total Deposit Volume entered as 0 altered by system check 30/08/09
