Description: Wall running N-S bonded to [1516] wall runs West from the South corner of [1515]
Wall is constructed of courses of mudbrick 2 main types of mudbrick have been identifies, indicated on section 41.
Bricks Type (1) [1534] Type (3) [1536]
Mortar type (2) [1534]
Runs N/S 4.12 m from wall 1516 at south, to limits of excavation at north.
Stands 1.38 m high, 11 courses 1.00 m high at best preserved section although bricks stand higher at North.

wall steps down from the North to the South, which involves at least four descents. The predominance of brick type (1) [1534] at the upper courses survives. A change in function perhaps the lower coursing to a superstructure of a building, the lower courses being beneath ground. In cut [1043], suggesting foundation build only.
The wall is badly disturbed on its upper extant, by weathering, Mellaart, Animal burrows and roots. Bricks may have been made on site [see brick units]

Discussion: While mortar may have been made from midden material excavated during the cutting of foundation trench [1043] the wall is later than [.. ..] to the West, as the western side of 1515 shows mortar overspill up against the former. The wall was constructed with courses of mud brick, which were likely laid and then the excavated construction cut levelled out before stepping up could continue, as several dump. layers within [1043] run under the brick coursing.
Courses of the brick slope off to the South, confirming the problem of subsidence when building over/in/on midden.
1515 abuts wall 1516 to south, but may be contemporary
