Unit 16474
Category: Skeleton dug in 2008
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: neolithic burial
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Neolithic child disturbed by interment of adult Neolithic (16465) and possibly two late neolithic burials (16442, 16445). The skeleton is in poor condition and the head is missing. The grave cut is visible on the eastern side and possibly the southern. The western edge aslo appears to be intact. The northern extent of the cut is not intact. The body is articulated enough to accurately determiine the position and orientation. No grave goods were found. Black staining was noted on several bones. Animal disturbance was extensive in several areas of the pit, particularly in the central thorax area. The age of the child is estimated at 4-5 years. The child was likely interred into the northern floors/platform of the building above space 84 which is now gone.
