Unit 16479
Category: Layer dug in 2008
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: brick rubble fill
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: This layer appears to be the main phase of demolition after the structure was burnt containing a great deal of large structural material, bricks and plaster as well as burnt timbers.
As we came down onto the floors, it was decided to 100% sieve and sample across the features so 16481 was assigned, but is identical to 16479 in every way other than the sampeling stratigey.
Brick sizes = 300mm - 470mm x 190mm x 100mm
The width and deepth of the bricks are consistant throughout all the deposits, this dose not correspond with the width of the bricks in the insitu walls that are 300mm rather than 190mm. This must relate to something occuring higher in the build.
