Data Category Information: Location: feature; Description: oven; Material: mix (dark grey&white); Deposition: multiple
Discussion: Removal of worn surface with indistinct boundaries. I started in the north since it appeared to be overlying the next layer covering F.2368 to the north. However, as I proceeded south, I had to stop and trace out two higher and ephemeral layers above this layer in the south. This may be due to the southward slope of the building and build of surface repairs or make-up. The layer was highly lensed with orange, white and dark grey ash. It was excavated down to a firespot under the middle of the unit and disturbed orange and grey layers in the southern part ( probably later), which also contained a cluster of animal bone, stones and grinding stone and lumps of plaster. There were also some fragments of obsidian and chipped stone near the firespot. In addition to the later layers and cluster, excavation just south of the firespot revealed revealed a circular cut which we thought would be the cut for the infant bural partially hanging out of the profile, but turned out to be another cluster deposit (per R.R). The unit contained high amounts of charcoal and some animal bone.
