Dimensions: 2.2 m (E-W) x 2.5 m (N-S) x 0.2 m (thick) 

Discussion: Midden deposit sealing the butress material (16559), banked up to support the southern wall of B 44. There was some bricky material within 16568, which may sugggest that it was part of the levelling episode directly after the B44 construction 

Recognition: color and texture inclusions 

Definition: clear at north end, diffue at south end 

Execution: trowel, mattock 

Condition: hot, dry, windy 

Consistency: mixed-moderate compact 

Colour: mid to dark gray, mid to light brown 

Texture: ashy clayey silt 

Bedding: layered 

Inclusions: freq bone, freq white flecking, freq charcoal flecks and frags, mod phytoliths 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrows, mellaart truncation 

Basal Boundary: diffuse in south, clear in north
