Description: Description: 1, brick, and 2, mortar 

Discussion: Upper walling of wall feature 96/76 (section 96/431). Large dense bricks and mortar with few inclusions. This wall abuts 1516 to the north and overlies 1582. Bricks and mortar separated easily, so the bricks were probably dry before construction 

Execution: Trowel and mattock

Consistency: 1+2: Firm 

Colour: 1: 10YR 3/3. 2: 10 YR 3/4 dark yellowish brown 

Texture: 1: sandy clay loam. 2: silty clay loam 

Bedding: 1 Brick: massive, 2 Mortar: Massive 

Inclusions: 1: charcoal 2% (c 2mm)/ organic material 10% (<12mm), pebbles (<2%) 2:Organic remains 20% (c <2mm), 10% pebbles (<2mm), salt stains. 

Post-depositional Features: 1: roots/salt 2: salt 

Basal Boundary: Sharp anthropogenic boundary
