Discussion: the fill in space 341 is probably room fill. Before excavation, the surface cleaning reveals a probably area of disturbance, most likely the result of animal activity.

After taking the fill down to a few centimetres without knowing fill boundary on the east side, we were able to find the wall on this side. The eastern wall is also disturbed by a larger disturbance coming into the space on the NE corner (part of the unit 16861). This unit (16859) was stopped at this level to remove the remainder of this disturbance from the space before continuing to remove the fill. One the three remaining walls, many phytoliths were uncovered on the intersurface between wall and plaster. The unit was stopped where the room fill changed from compact to more loose. The eastern side may be defined by a butress extending from the southern wall - this is F.5057.
F.5054 may also be a butress, thereby connecting spaces 340 and 341, rather than them being separate spaces. Another possible clay ball was found, small and relatively decayed, but was not given an " x" number.

Due to running low on graphics paper, the three features (F.5055, 5056 and 5057) surrounding this space were drawn on one sheet, to be transferred to their own corresponding sheets with separate graphics numbers later. The second graphics number listed on this unit sheet refers to the sheet containing all 3 features.

For a sketch of the unit as it appears most recently, with all features defined, see the back of the unit continuation sheet (2 of 2).

Finds Room Information:

All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.

X Finds Material: nothing recorded

Finds Material Stored: nothing recorded
