Description: Description contain brick // mortar 

 

Discussion: Removal of first few courses of bricks and mortar to minimise damage from subsidence over next year. The bricks and mortar separated easily, suggesting the bricks were dried previous to construction. The fill to the south was dense in bone fragments and sieved separately. At the level at which we finished, a layer of plaster was revealed on the North facing surface of the wall to the south [73] suggesting this predated wall [76]

Colour: 2.5Y 4/3 olive brown // 2.5 Y 3/2 - very dark greyish brown

Inclusions: none obvious - extremely fine; shell, charcoal <2% // charcoal 2% (6mm), hackberry 2%, bone <2% (6mm), chalk <2% (4mm)
