Unit 17556
Category: Layer dug in 2009
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: plaster on platform
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform)
Description: Plaster surface on L-shaped platform in the SW corner of space 336, the platform has a grind stone set into it (17547). Fire damaged.
Discussion: Removed marl clay make up layer, coming down onto white plaster floor layer in attempt to join up layers across the Sout West platform. However once starting on East-most side near the hearth and working West, the layer ended and become patchy towards the ground stone. The layer appears to respect some earlier structure that had been demolished, possibly a bin against South most wall. Layer also appears to seal over a possible hearth or basin in North-East-most corner of unit.
