Discussion: This is a lower section of the wall located below the wall 17657 in the southern part of the trench. It consisted of three courses of bricks. Bricks in the first course were oriented N-S, the second course E-W and the last were oriented N-S. The size of the bricks in subsequent courses are as follows (as seen from the East):

The wall composed the southern wall of building 74. A retaining wall (unit 17674) made of horizontally placed bricks, was built against the wall from the northern side.
