Unit description: Small-medium unit, quite fragmented, probably because near surface. Preservation reasonably good. Mostly sheep-size with some large mammal/cattle and pig (teeth, digested phalanx). Sheep-size distributed fairly evenly through the body, but few diagnostics. These include very large second and third phalanges of a sheep. Large mammal has a little rib, skull, and long bone; only diagnostics are feet. Complete hare metapodial. Little burning (mostly low temperature, some high), fair amount of digestion. Two bones are stained dark red, as though they had been embedded in ochre. Lack of articulations and digestion suggest that deposit may have been reworked; however the condition is good, and the pieces are not tiny and do not look rolled. Sample 2 >4mm flotation sorted 100%; only diagnostics recorded fully, rest grouped as flot frags. Medium-size sample, mostly small pieces with a little burning. Mostly sheep-size, much of it digested toes. Fair amount of digestion in general. A little microfauna, including some probable amphibian, a bit of shell, and a probably modern insect case. X1 is a bone point. Last number = 137Figurine Records: No GroundStone Records: No Heavy Residue Records: No Microfaunal Records: No
