Dimensions: 24 X 12 X 9 cms. 

Discussion: fill consists of scorched silty soil in a deep irregular hole, in one edge of what seems to be a hearth. The section suggests the we may have had shifting scoops for fire setting, and this is the lowest excavated so far. The others are shallow scoops, tais is a hole, and there seems to be a void underneath. Time prevents further investigation of this feature this year - maybe 97 will clarify it. Ash, bone and dauby fragments in lowest fill suggests lenses or a different deposit at the base.

Basal Boundary: uncertain - too deep & narrow to be clear; probably moved into a different more ashy lense near the base.
