Dimensions: 5.60m x 3.60m 0.10-0.20m (Thick) 

 

Discussion: Burnt collapse of building material. Extensive brick and plaster collapse along west side of building. Possible moulding that 'may' represent junction of walls and ceiling. Attached to at least 4 bricks - ie the wall would therefore be atleast 4 courses higher than currently standing.

Many of the bricks in this deposit were large in size and match the ones in the surviving northern and western walls. 

 

Recognition: Friable texture defined by walls N-W extends beyond limit of excavation to S+E 

Definition: Clear 

Execution: Trowel and Mattock 

Condition: Hot and dusty 

Consistency: well fired (burnt) brick and soft friable brick crush 

Colour: Red-red brown 

Texture: mubbrick and plaster collapse 

Bedding: composite 

Inclusions: occational stone clay ball bone shell and obsidian 

Post-depositional Features: occational animal burrow 

Basal Boundary: Sharp
