Discussion: Fill of quarry pit. Very compact - probably because while backfilling they wanted to stabilize the area. Initially it looks as though they were quarrying midden material, but it seems they were mainly cutting into roomfill, which is fairly compact.

Colour: mixed, mainly mid-orange brown, darker around edges 

Texture: silty clay 

Bedding: compound 

Inclusions: occasional: bone, pottery, charcoal, stone
