Discussion: THIS LAYER IS THE ADDITION TO THE FORMER BENCH AS A MODIFICATION TO MAKE IT WIDER, SO UNDER THAT LAYER OF THICK CLAY THERE IS THE FORMER BENCH AND LITTLE PART OF THE FLOOR ON PLATFORM F.3408.
THIS LAYER WAS SO COMPACT THAT WE HAD TO USE MATTOCK.
