Discussion: Small area of layer in SW corner of Space 113. It does not appear to have been truncated by Mellaart. As this corner appears to be lower than the rest of the room [1881] and [1879] may be levelling deposits for floor [1878] to make it level.
This is the final part of a sequence which was left isolated in the SW corner by Mellaart truncation.
- [1876] floor - [1874] layer - [1877] surface - [1878] floor - [1879] layer? levelling? - [1881] layer? levelling?.
This is a quite well stratified sequence but it is not particularly informative due to truncation.

Colour: 10YR 4/1 dark grey with brown mottling 

Texture: silt clay loam 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occasional small charcoal flecks
