Discussion: This was a room infill situated in space 470. This space was partially excavated during excavations in 1960’s which included probe from north direction (especially Shrine 8). Within the unit there were two kinds of accumulations recorded. In the Eastern part there was a compact layer of (bricky) clay, generally situated under U.19389. This part of the unit had layered nature with several lenses of charcoals and sporadic thin layers of ash. However, the majority of evidenced mortar and bricks within the unit appeared to be the same horizon of intentional accumulation as the infill in the Western part. The latter comprised of more bricky material.
It is obvious that firm and strong texture of the fill is caused by the high concentration of the building materials (such as bricks and mortars). However, it was difficult to recognize particular fragments of bricks and their rectangular shapes (corners and so on) during exploration of the deposit. The observation may put a light on the case of deliberate deposition of the building material, that seems to have been smashed after dumping within an open space. It is highly possible that there was also water used to bond diverse sort of dumped materials. Therefore it is difficult to distinguish particular types of well-mixed components.
Visible slumping and curved positions of the walls may indicate that there was an episode occurred that caused a demolition. Consequently, described room infill might be considered as a deliberately dumped deposit set down probably in order to stabilize the neighboring as well as subsequent structures. The evidence of deliberate dumping, comprised of specific elements (bricks and mortars) and very small number of artefacts (if we compare midden deposits which are completely different than described unit 19390).
Worth noticing is the fact that most of the X-finds were registered in NE and SW corners of the space 470. The horizontal border line of the infill was based on the surrounding walls and plasters preserved in diverse quality.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
X Finds Material: nothing recorded
Finds Material Stored: nothing recorded
