Discussion: This is either a basket or a mat, there does not appear to be the circular pattern characteristic of baskets in most areas, only in the skull area, but it is hard to tell. It was placed with the burial infill (u. 19724) of child u. 19727. Three samples were taken, two of them with the infill (s3 and s4 in unit 19724) and one is s2 of this unit. After specialist analysis we will be able to say more about the character of this organic material.
