Unit 19847
Category: Cut dug in 2012
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: post retrieval pit
Data Category Information: Description: pit
Discussion: The pit is very irregular on the top and more regular on the bottom. The section is stepped on the west side. The goal of this pit could be the removal of some material (architectural elements) from the north wall. It is possible that this action had damaged a former infant burial. In other words the pit might indicate a secondary cut or the top of an earlier burial (with an edge on the stepped section of the pit?)
Shape: At the top rectangular
Sides: Vertical and steppes on the west side
Base Break: Square
Base: Flat on the north side, concave on the south side
Orientation: N-S
