Unit 19875
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: hearth rim
Data Category Information: Location: feature; Description: hearth
Discussion: The unit is made of gray plaster.
The layer has a semicircular shape and a convex profile. The shape follows the north eastern boundary of the herarth. The unit can be interpreted as a rim of the hearth. The layer is localized just on the north-east side of the hearth. This layer is characterized by the same shape, the same plaster and the same localization of the rim of the last firing in use in building 89 (U 19872). So the hearth was remade at a different moment. We don't know if the localization on the north-east boundary was intentional or if the subsequent levelling of the area has destroyed the other sides of the unit.
The unit was excavated with leaf-trowel.
