Unit 19879
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: burial fill,burial infill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: This layer is localized on the highest platform. İts colour is homogeneus, brownish gray, but in the southern part it seems to be more pure than in the northern part. The surface is flat and there are a lot of inclusions of plaster and charcoal.
We have found many bones, not connected among them. In the central part of the layer there is a concentration of teeth belonging to a child. We also found a lot of little rings made of shell (ca 20-30) probably related to a braclet or a necklace and maybe connected to buiıal iıfts.
This unit is a burial fill and it is cut by a retrieval pit (u.19880) localized in the north-west part, probably aimed to remove some bones (maybe a skull?) from the burıal.
28/07/13 Th ecut 19880 is a burial cut not a retrieval pit!
The unit was excavated by leaf-trowel.
