Discussion: The hearth rim has different phases. This is lower than u.19895, and covered by it, but the shape is almost the same. The layer is more compact at the top but more friable in the composition. The shape is circular but irreglar on the southern side. It was shaped by clay accumulation in order to support the hearth and certain the fire. It is distinguished by the upper ring by colour and composition. It seems related to the first phases of use of the hearth.
