Unit 2044

Area: South
Interpretive Categories: building fill,grave fill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 0.85 x 0.50 x 0.20 m
Discussion: Originally intended as spit through presumed building fill at N end of 112., I investigated large bone in centre of room which turned out to be human femur. 2044 therefore became number for fill of burial F89 which was partly sealed by floor (2046) to the SW. However limit of this deposit is defined by limit of bones of skeletons (2056) and (2058) except to S where possible cut for burial was visible. Presumably top of (2044) was removed with spit (2035) above.
