Dimensions: 0.16m N-S X 1.60m E-W X 0.35 m thick 

 

Discussion: A probable foundation infill which seems to be a continuation of the younger wall f. 3624. This unit is the upper part of the foundation infill and unit 20414 is the lower portion. Consists of yellowish, brown, grey lumps of clay and silty-clay. Very few artefacts but does contain some small and medium sized burnt red pieces of clay. Distinct and clear boundary of underlying layer U. 20414. Has a very flat surface.

Definition: Up to wall in South, clear at North 

Execution: Trowel, mattock 

Condition: Dry, hot 

Consistency: Firm 

Colour: Mixed grey, yellowish, and brown 

Texture: Silty clay, clay 

Bedding: Layered, Massive 

Inclusions: Charcoal, small burnt clay, clay balls, bone 

Post-depositional Features: Animal Burrow 

Basal Boundary: Clear, straight, smooth, anthropogenic
