Unit 20625
Category: Layer dug in 2013

Interpretive Categories: Mixed burial fill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: The excavation of the burials in the NE platform in B.77 (F.6051) started in 2011. Nine individuals were identified and five of these were lifted. The excavation of the burials started again in 2013 and after uncovering the burials the decision was made to start a unit of mixed burial fill U.20625 as many bones were fragmented and the relations between the different burials and individuals were unclear. This mixed burial fill is part of different units but the main part probably correlates with the underlying burial fill U.20686. The fill was excavated using a trowel. To narrow the distribution of the bones lying loose in the soil the platform cut as a whole was divided in five hypotethic parts (see the sketch). As the extension of the unit only covers the central and southern part of the platform, not including the northernmost part ( F.3620), not many bones were attributed to the NE or NW parts.
No plan made for this unit.
In the center of the platform a worked bone tool and a small fragment of a pinkish stone (perhaps part of the pink palette that was found in connection with a cranium in 2011?) were found.
