Interpretive Categories: Grey plaster floors and make-ups

Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: dark grey clay; Deposition: composite (floors/bedding/plaster/packing/occupation); Basal Spit: unpainted

Discussion: Clean grey floors (no inclusions/artefacts) and associated clayish make-ups underneath. The floors are around 1mm in thickness, and the make-ups between 1mm and 2cm in depth.
In total, three floors with their corresponding make-ups were uncovered as part of this unit. This decision was taken partly because all these floors have been sampled as part of the micromorphological block 20628/S3 and will be studied microscopically, and partly due to the very thin, subtle nature of these floors and make-ups, less than 5mm in thickness, which makes them very difficult to excavated without mixing.
No inclusions or artefacts were encountered.
Floors are sloping towards the south (ca.10º).

Consistency: Soft
