Unit 21062

Category: Layer    dug in 2015

Area: TPC

Interpretive Categories: Oven structure

Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: oven; Material: brick; Deposition: homogeneous

Discussion: The oven structure/supertructure was to the W and E clearly visible and in the N & S destroyed by two later graves F7373 and 7352. Furthermore it was damaged by bio-turbulence and therefore only a fraction of the original remained. Some burned clay, probably deriving from the superstructure was found in the fill U 21061 but not incorporated in U 21062. The structure seems to have been partly built on a clay brick, indicating that F 7263 was built into an older wall structure.
