Discussion: The unit is limited by the walls f. 7105 and f. 3678 to the north and the west. In the south it is limited by the midden u. 21103. No clear boundary can be seen to the east due to the end of the shelter. Therefore the possibility that the unit continues to the east is regarded as high.
The unit is quite homogenous but has some differences within it. It is light grey and soft to the SE and light brown and firm to the W. It also contains a higher rate of charcoal to the west.
The light grey and the light brown areas in the unit are massive within themselvs. The unit was probably formed when different, but similar, types of residue were deposited at the same time or within a short time span. The fact that the unit is not layered also supports this.
The unit was excavated with mattock and pick axe.
