Data Category Information: Description: fire spots (non-structured); Deposition: homogeneous

Discussion: Substantial ashy spread, probably a rake-out of hearth F. 7345. This unit consists mostly of calcitic ashes within which articulated phytoliths are a common find. Small fragments of charcoal and bone were found within this deposit. This layer lays on top of a grey floor / occupation surface. 

Consistency: Very loose. 

Colour: Light/medium grey. 

Texture: Silty clay. 

Bedding: Massive (ashes and phytoliths). 

Inclusions: Phytoliths, micro-charcoal. 

Post-depositional Features: Bioturbation (animal burrowing). 

Basal Boundary: Constructional, distinct, smooth and flat.
