Dimensions: 0.30 m l.x 0.30 m w x 0.03m d.
Discussion: This was the deposit that lay around and below skeleton 2105. it's very difficult to differentiate from [1982], However, the division is somewhat arbitrary. Indeed, beads associated with skeleton 2105 were recovered from the flotation of [1982]. This lower deposit was a tad darker than [1982] however, perhaps due to the material it was cutting through. it probably represents deliberate grave fill as it = very mixed.
Execution: trowel, small tools
Condition: dry, warm, windy
Consistency: weak (friable)
Colour: 2.5Y dark greyish brown,4/2 when wet , drying to 2.5Y 6/2
Texture: some fine rootlet penetration
Bedding: massive
Inclusions: occassional scattered flicks of charcoal (<5mm<5%), occassional lumps/frags. of plaster ( <10mm<3%), occ. frags. of mud br. & burnt clay/daub(<40mm<5%), some natural mineral salts
Post-depositional Features: sandy silt
Basal Boundary: interface with 1982 above and with depoits below =not very clear and interface= indistinct(10-20mm)
