Discussion: Unit is a compound deposit of laminated hearth floors located within hearth F 7402. They appear extremely eroded and degraded due to burning and use in the hearth as well as possible scaring and cleaning during the use life of the feature. They are composed of clay and sand material and is formed into a circular shape. They lap up slightly on the N. edge of the hearth. Their presence demonstrates the continued, repeated, long terms use of the hearth. 

Consistency: friable 

Colour: orangey black-brown 

Texture: sandy clay 

Bedding: compound 

Inclusions: charcoal, plaster marl 

Post-depositional Features: burning, erosion 

Basal Boundary: clear, flat, smooth, anthropogenic, prominent
