Dimensions: 80 x 70 mm, 110 to 40mm thick 

Discussion: Dump of clayish material inserted into wall cavity prior to placement of 'moulded breast' feature. It contained 2 bones in the E half excavated first. Not certain if I've really found the back of it - probably the brick is just rather damp inside and hence a bit different. We can tell when the wall comes apart.
When I took out the W half of this it became clear it did run back further. However, this deeper fill was a bit different - darker orange brown & didn't seem to have any finds. By the time this was clear, part of it had been added to the original 2178 material so it was all taken out as one fill although but may not have been.

Condition: dry, warm, calm 

Consistency: weak to firm 

Colour: 7.5 YR 4/6 strong brown 

Texture: silty clay with a little fine to medium sand 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: bone, clay aggregates 30% 

Post-depositional Features: noone observed 

Basal Boundary: clear, sharp, anthropogenic
