Discussion: The wheel-made pottery is certainly associated with the post-Neolithic grave that cut through this unit (2205/2206). Next to x.1 was found a fragment of human bone. In the NE corner, a feature was pedestalled for later excavation as a separate unit (2225). This feature is a mass of white plaster and brick material.

Unit description: This unit was started in 1997, and finished in 1998. Same as 2200, and also an insecure context. ID's, cranial and short bones of Ovis/Capra and a single Bos unfused metapodial distal epiphyses. There are also two unfused Ovis/Capra metapodial distal epiphyses, as well as one deciduous tooth, showing presence of young animals. Weathered and worn, probably mostly from being near surface. Scrappy bits from through the body but especially long bones. Quite fragmented but not all tiny. Sample 1 >4 mm flotation 100% sorted; only diagnostics recorded, the rest as flot frags. This is a sample of moderate size, similar in composition to the dry sieved material: mixed, fragmented, rather weathered pieces from throughout the body. Fish and microfauna are strikingly absent, though.Figurine Records: Yes
