Discussion: First floor of oven F. 7308. Removing both a scorched black layer and a repair layer less burnt. The make-up of the scorched surface is stuck also to the overall deposit. 

Consistency: brittle but firm 

Colour: lightly brown/beige on top to black towards the bottom 

Texture: sandy clay loam 

Bedding: layered 

Inclusions: clay aggregates, charcoal, many plant impressions 

Post-depositional Features: truncation in the NEO., roots 

Basal Boundary: sharp
