Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: bin; Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: Upper parts of bin walls appeared to be single bonded plaster construct and were removed as one unit (U. 20923) to the level of floors U. 30161. The cross-section of the walls showed a more complex construction/repair sequence, so each wall was then defined separately. Between north wall U. 22129 and west/front wall U. 22102 in the NW corner a gap was filled with darker grey make-up/repair material that seems to extend a short way onto outer and inner surfaces of walls. Unit was excavated and the make-up between the walls only extended about 1.5cm deep before the wall plaster proved to be fused, though "makeup" on outside of bin walls continues down and may be something different, though it looks the same. This unit may therefore represent the repair of a substantial crack in a bin corner.
