Unit 22190
Category: Layer dug in 2016
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: group of construction layers
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: The unit relates to a group of eroded layers that abut the southern side of wall 230 and that, liying under floor 22189, can probably be related to its construction. 22190 covers other two thin layers that are very badly preserved (U22191) and that can be interpreted as the remains of a floor. 22190 also covers another subjacent make-up layer (22192).
Th upper layer (1) of 22190 is firm, reddish-light brown, silty-clay, massive, with phitolits (20%) and charcol (2%) inclusions (both of them flecks). The basal boundary is gradual, faint, weavy, inclined, smooth. The layer is 5 cm thick.
The underlying layer (2) is firm, reddish-light grey, silty-clay, massive, with phitolits inclusions (10%). The basal boundary is diffuse, distinct, inclined (from E to W), smooth. The layer is 0.5 cm thick.
The third layer (3) has the same distinctive traits of the first (1). It is 0.5 cm thick.
The fourth layer (4) has the same characteristics of the second (2). It is 0.5 cm thick.
The fifth layer (5) has the same composition of the first (1). It is 0.5 cm thick.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
