Description: Plaster layer with make-up in unit 22209, space 94 

 

Discussion: This is a very thick make-up layer with a thin plaster layer on top. This is a compound layer with multiple layers. It is located below a plaster layer (u.21397). It belongs to feature 7638. Because it covered the plaster floor occasionally it contains fragments of plaster. Interesting plastered steps linking to the next appearing floor occur in the northern and western edges of the unit. A line of plaster also appeares on the southern edge of the unit. Inclusions consisted of bone and stone fragments, obsidian and phytoilites. There is burn damage to eastern limit. 

 

Consistency: firm, loose 

Colour: white, light brown, dark brown, grey, black 

Texture: clay 

Bedding: compound layered 

Inclusions: seed, wood, bone, shell, teeth, plant remains, plaster, stone, rock fragments, 

Post-depositional Features: disturbance by roots and animals 

Basal Boundary: constructional, sharp, distinct, smooth
