Discussion: This is the latest base of oven F.7815 situated in the north-eastern corner of Sp.551 (B.160). It's southern part was truncated by postretrival pit F.7829 and it's western edge was damaged (possibly deliberately together with the oven's superstructure). The base was placed directly on top of the earlier oven's floor U.32406. However, it must have originaly sealed a thin make-up layer that got baked and stuck to the floor. As a consequence, the base and the make-up layer were excavated as one unit. 

Consistency: friable 

Colour: grey / dark grey 

Texture: silty clay 

Bedding: massive but baked from a top

Basal Boundary: constructional, very sharp, distinct, smooth
