Description: found burnt building wall material with wood inclusion; painted plaster walls in stripe-design
Discussion: Following the excavation of pit u21085 to find the extent of the cut, it was not possible to find the base of the pit due to several layers of clay and darker deposits. It was concluded after the excavation that the base of the pit had been missed, but during the excavation, small patches of painted plaster were discovered in the northeast corner under which was found a very burnt ball of brick/clay with imprint of wood (wattle and daub) construction. This then elevated the importance of the unit as it was clear that we were now excavating a room.
Human remains from at least two individuals was later found in this infill and it is most llikely that these derive from the grave F7276 which is spacially very close to this unit.
