Unit 22713
Category: Layer dug in 2015
Area: TPC
Interpretive Categories: Rubble infill of bin
Data Category Information: Location: feature; Description: bin; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: Unit has been defined by the containment with the bin feature F7197 and also its inclusions of charred seeds. This unit is likely to represent collapsed material from the buildining (sp. 493) rather than its original contents and is similar in comparison to the rubble layer above (U20703). The unit contains small lenses of burned clay and also small pockets of charred grain (barley). This has been taken as a separate botanical sample (s4). This may have been from a hanging basket that had fallen from the ceiling during the burning event which became incorporated within the rubble fill. The unit ends on top of a compact layer of dark burned grey clay.
Consistency: moderate compaction with loose pockets
Colour: mid greyish brown with patches of organic brown + black thin lenses
Texture: sandy silt
