Discussion: S half of space 69 - top part; 'feature' deliberately left last year turned out to be nothing more than a more compact, rubbly part of the deposit. This deposit, in general, is clearly 'ashy' with much burnt material and may be contemporary with the destruction of building 1.

Condition: warm & breezy 

Consistency: very weak - loose 

Colour: 10 YR 7/2 light grey and 10 YR 6/1 grey 

Texture: silty loam 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: charcoal <10mm <2%; plaster <5mm <1%; fragemtns of mudbrick up to 20 cm 2-5% 

Post-depositional Features: roots 5-10%, animal burrow
