Unit 2652
Category: layer dug in 1997
Area: South
Data Category Information: none
Dimensions: 2.15m(N-S)x0.90m(E-W)
Discussion: Digging the SE corner of building 10.The aim is to go below floor 117.The surface which was left from last year contains some patches of floor 116.After the removal of these patches, floor 117 appeared which was not uncovered last year in this area. The digging continued with the removal of floor 117.Under it after a layer of sandy clay material(similar of the mudbricks),a new floor appeared. It has an uneven surface not well preserved with strong traces of fire. This floor is named floor 140.At the NE corner of the unit, attached to wall 102 and the bench(F118) a small construction of irregular shape (almost semicircular) was found. It has white plastered face and it seems that it goes below floor 140.For this reason is left uninvestigated.
