Dimensions: 0.60 m E-W x 0.18 m wide in the center 60 mm thick 

 

Discussion: A lower packing behind the second oven wall 2398, similar event and function as 2701 but more ashy. it may have derived from F.I. contact but west accumulated in-situ as not finely layered as burned debris would be. The overlying 2071 forms the same function which is packing for the later wall but is a lot more solid and contains the horn core X1

Colour: 10 YR 3/2 very dark greyish brown 

Texture: clayery silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: 20% charcoal flecks <2 mm; 2% charcoal frags >1 cm; 1% plaster/ brick aggregates >5 mm; 50% ash 

Post-depositional Features: 20% salt flecking; root activity 

Basal Boundary: clear, antropogenic
